In 1848, a ‘Gold Rush’ occurred when James W. Marshall found gold on January the 24th of that year. Gold seekers searched for gold in rivers and streams in many different places. Techniques were developed and small villages turned into big cities. To transport the gold, new transport systems were designed, such as the steam train. A complete network of train tracks and stations was created. All especially for transporting gold.

This true story forms the basis for the roller coaster ‘Gold Rush’ and its opening ceremony in Slagharen Amusement & Holiday Park.
